TEST IT Cell A1-A2-B-O, reverse A1-B

The ABO system is the most important blood group system in transfusion practice and was the first human blood group system to be discovered by Landsteiner in 1900. The ABO system is defined by the presence or absence of the A and/or B antigens in the red blood cells and by the presence of antibodies in the serum, corresponding to the antigen or antigens missing in the red blood cells. The determination of the serum or reverse ABO group, is based on the presence or absence of anti-A and/or anti-B isoagglutinins in the patient’s serum, using red blood cells from a known blood group: A1, A2, B and O. Anti-A and anti-B isoagglutinins are natural antibodies produced by individuals lacking the respective A and B antigens.

Appointment:

TEST IT Cell Reverse A1-B and TEST IT Cell A1-A2-B-O Reagent Red Blood Cells are used for the determination of the reverse ABO group in gel technique. Some individuals with subgroups A2 or A2B may present anti-A1 antibodies, which interfere with the procedure for determining the reverse ABO group using A1 Reagent Red Blood Cells. TEST IT Cell A1-A2-B-O reagent is used to investigate such discrepancies.
